With a population  of 70.000, Imola, the former Roman city of Forum Cornelii, is the largest town of the Imola-Faenza Territory. It houses the world renown " Enzo e Dino Ferrari" racing circuit and boasts a wealth of history and traditions. Imola has important religious and secular landmark including the San Domenico church with its Gothic portal, the Romanesque bell tower of Santa Maria in Regola, the Sforza fortress, City Hall, Palazzo Sersanti, as well as the Cidra museum devoted to Resistance period. Food lovers take delight in its high quality eateries, the top being the award winning San Domenico restaurant, imola is also known for its events including races and rock concerts held in the Autodromo, the Imola in Musica week long festival held in June, the Baccanale food festival held in November. The town has two theaters and many musical institutions including the Vassura Baroncini municipal music school, the city of Imola band and the prestigious Accademia Pianistica Internazionale Incontri col Maestro.
